The Ventura County Community College District and the Ventura County Office of Education were honored to receive the “Innovation Award” from the Ventura Chamber of Commerce at their annual Poinsettia Awards luncheon on December 11 at the Ventura Beach Marriott.

The award recognizes the amazing work that’s underway for VC Innovates, an unprecedented collaboration of local educators and businesses to prepare Ventura County students for the careers of tomorrow. This multi-year project is funded by a $13.2 million grant from the California Department of Education. State officials received 123 eligible applications and VC Innovates was one of only 12 grant recipients in the state. The program will serve more than 35,000 students in 67 career pathways.
